Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in the Tulsa Area. Habitat is committed to making decent housing a matter of conscience and action and building strong communities.
Tulsa Habitat brings together people who want to create the opportunity of homeownership for aspiring, motivated low-income families. It is our belief that affordable homeownership helps families reach their dreams and the next generation toward greatness.
To better equip our families for owning homes, Tulsa Habitat families complete our Homeownership Program which includes hands-on building experiences, retail business opportunities, money management, and a series of workshops addressing such topics as homeowner insurance, home maintenance, goal setting, and much more. Tulsa Habitat works diligently to assure families have the necessary resources to be successful homeowners. In preparation for homeownership, Habitat families complete a 500 hour Homeownership Program. Successful completion of the program ends with you constructing your home alongside community volunteer builders overseen by professional construction supervisors.
Over 210 families have successful moved into Tulsa Habitat homes. You very likely have enough income to own a Habitat home. What makes Habitat homes affordable are our zero interest loans. That’s right—a 0% mortgage for the entire term of your loan! Habitat makes no profit in selling our homes So if you’re ready to explore the journey of homeownership with Tulsa Habitat, Click here.
